Northwest students will understand the role of writing and speaking in living and learning, and speak and write effectively in a variety of contexts. Since what I am studying in college revolves around communication, I can confidently say I am well-rounded in this area and am ready to use it in the professional world.
In an Introduction to Advertising course, I made a Media Plan for a company. This form of writing was different than I had ever done.
In a Social Media Strategies course, I laid out goals for a company's social media. This course taught me how to get my creative thoughts into cohesive words on paper.
In a Principles of Public Relations course, I created a full media plan for YoYo Berri in Omaha. I had to make sure my audience knew what I was talking about since they are not well versed in PR.
