critical thinking

Northwest students will engage in disciplined thought to generate and communicate ideas. Throughout my time at Northwest, I have gained a lot of experience in the critical thinking realm. From being a part of a sorority, to giving campus tours and working in the Office of Student Involvement, I have learned how to think critically and on my feet.

In my Philosophy course, I wrote multiple philosophical essays. These were outside of my normal Journalism realm, so I had to do a lot of critical thinking to summarize my thoughts.

My freshman year I took a University Seminar course. At the end of the semester, we wrote a Plan for Success. I had to think of the goals I wanted and how I would go about achieving them.

In my Public Relations Techniques course, we did an activity where we were given a crisis situation and we had to communicate it to the public. In crisis situations, it is important to think critically and stay calm.

In Principles of Public Relations, I created an implementation and evaluation sheet for a business in Omaha. I had to critically brainstorm in order for the company to do the same.
