This is the first broadcast I ever participated in. We were assigned a freshman at random and were expected to find an interesting story. My partners and I found something that corresponded with current events

In my Advanced Journalism class, many are afraid to say what other's don't agree with. A classmate and I decided to address a problem that would most likely give us a few snarky looks in the halls. In the end, it was worth it and opened those students' eyes.

Doing a broadcast alone can be both refreshing and difficult. Even though I had a terrible cold this week, I came up with an exciting news story and managed to do some worthy voice-overs as well.

At the start of the second semester, our Activities Director told us to all be on the lookout for his niece. Sydney Loofe was abducted, making for a sad story within the following months. I decided to make a warning that was both serious but also a common caution.

The most popular sports at Millard West are football, basketball, and soccer. Everyone loves covering them, but I think it's equally important to cover the ones that aren't as attended.

This is my first year being on the journalism staff, which means not just writing, but creating broadcasts as well. From the ones I have created this year, you will see how my skills progress. The art of broadcasting is a hard one to perfect. Interviews have to be entertaining, footage has to be spot-on, and the story itself has to be current and amusing. They should be done in four days tops, which causes a lot of stress. Starting as a feature writer, it was hard for me to transfer my words on paper into videos for the whole school to hear and see. But after doing this many, I can't help but love it. In a way, I get to take everyone behind the scenes on how I write stories.
